While the contract does say that all warranty work must be conducted on premises, this is based on the assumption that the dealer met their initial obligations, which they did not. The dealership knowingly sold an unsafe vehicle, which, of course, is a violation of the law and by itself is enough to render any initial contract invalid (keep that in mind if you need to deal with these people about warranty work). I would also like to point out that just having a written agreement does not in anyway keep a signatory from pursuing the matter in court unless their is a specific clause stating such, and even then there are often ways to bring matters forward. I highly suggest that anyone dissatisfied with this company not only contact the Better Business Bureau, but make sure that your local town representatives are aware of the issues as well. If, by chance, you do take A Better Way Wholesale Auto to court (and they most likely will not be willing to attend anyway), the worst case scenario is that you have to pay court fees, which is a small price to pay in order to see those who caused you grief squirm. My biggest gripe isn't so much that A Better Way Auto sold an unsafe vehicle (used car dealerships are what they are), it's that when I dealt with the management it became quite clear that I was dealing with characters who lack any sense of morality. I say this not because they sold an unsafe car, but because in separate conversations the management pleaded their case not with facts or rational argument (the arguments were weak as was the brain power), but by claiming that they wouldn't be able to "feed their children" if they conceded to the repairs. Such arguments are childish, insulting, and pathetic, the type of thing one expects from a street vendor in Kabul, not at an actual professional. More
I read all the reviews, but had my heart set on a truck I read all the reviews, but had my heart set on a truck they had and dealt with them anyway. HUGE MISTAKE. I bought this truck from across the count I read all the reviews, but had my heart set on a truck they had and dealt with them anyway. HUGE MISTAKE. I bought this truck from across the country...sight unseen. I won't be home to see the truck that has been shipped for a few weeks, but let me talk about the (lack of) customer service. TERRIBLE Of all the times I tried and tried to get questions answered, all I got was the feeling that you were a giant pain in their backside. Unreturned phone calls, unanswered emails and flat out rude and blunt when I did get them. It's unbelievable to me that these people stay in business. So after a giant cluster at the time my vehicle was ready to ship, and being ensured that the vehicle has been detailed and completely gone over in their shop, my buddy meets the trucker to pick it up...and....no oil showing on the dipstick! No fuel in the tank! No temp plates to drive it home! NOT detailed! Like I said, I haven't made it home to see my new truck yet, and I'm now full of anxiety to see what I've done. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. In the end, THE ONLY friendly helpful person there is Sharon in financing. How she's part of that place is a mystery to me. One last thing, there were some "fees" added on the my final cost that were NEVER revealed to me before the day I paid the balance. Just one more example of the great communication you'll have with this place. More
found a car online and went to check it out. first thing i noticed is that half of the employees are dressed like they are going to the beach, and the guys are dressed like they are going golfing. not what i noticed is that half of the employees are dressed like they are going to the beach, and the guys are dressed like they are going golfing. not what I expect when I go to a car dealership, used cars or not. Just wear a nice shirt and actually wear pants, and what you say becomes a whole lot more credible. went to look at a car and although the price listed on the website was 3k, the price on the car was 2k. the salesman said the price is actually 3k. even on our way to lot 4 to test drive the car, he was already asking for a deposit...before i even saw the car! then they explained that they do any work that's needed AFTER you make the purchase. that seems pretty fishy. he said even if it needs a new transmission they will do that work too. i find that hard to believe since a new tranny would cost just about as much as they are selling it for! went in and he was still looking for a deposit and asked for a call back later. now i see that they want your deposit and then sell the car to someone else. also looked at financing options. he said i would be approved for some financing even though i've been denied for EVERYTHING with my crappy credit. i don't think anyone would give me a loan but he said they could. I have a tough time buying that. needless to say, i'm not buying from here and won't ever, until they get under new management some day More
Let me start off by saying, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. You will walk away with MORE headaches and stress than before you started to look for a car. I'll explain everything that has happened since we start You will walk away with MORE headaches and stress than before you started to look for a car. I'll explain everything that has happened since we started dealing with this horrible place. My sister got into a head on collision and was looking for a car. She didn't get a lot of money from the insurance company so was just looking for a car that could get her from point A to point B. She found a nice 2 door blazer from this place, or so she thought. She test drove it and everything seemed fine. They got her approved and she was able to buy the car. Ok, seems good for right now. They told her that the car would be ready for pick up by that Monday. She didn't receive her car until that Friday. She was promised all of these things that they never put in. It needed a new battery, fuel pump relay, arm rest from the door and the driver side mirror didn't move when you turned the switch on. All of things were supposed to be fixed BEFORE she picked up the car. She was sick of waiting so she picked it up anyways and made an appointment to have all of this stuff fixed. So her appointment was this Tuesday, she wakes up Monday morning with her car not being able to start. She calls them and tells them very nicely that this stuff was supposed to be done when she picked up the car but since they took forever to even get the car ready and she still needed to go to work and couldn't wait anymore that this needed to be fixed ASAP. They had the audacity to tell her to get the car towed down there with her OWN money and on her OWN time and MAYBE they will look at it when they get around to having time. My fiance walked out and helped her get her car started (he works on cars ALL the time and I probably trust him more than half the mechanics out there) and he clearly told them from the beginning that she needed a new fuel pump relay. They proceeded to tell my sister (who is only 19) over the phone that he is stupid and has no idea what he's talking about and they will fix whatever issue THEY think needs to be fixed. She brought her car down there yesterday morning and has still yet to pick it up. My father called this morning to ask the progress of the car and THEY HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED IT YET. They had to ask them for the 5th time what needed to be fixed because they had no record of what needed to be done. This is just the BEGINNING of what this company has put us through. My fiance is in the Army and we have decided to get another car for us. Nothing to crazy or drastic, just something semi-nice since we never know how long he will be home for or how long the car will be driven for. He found a really nice Audi there, higher miles but still very nice. He asked me if it would be something I would be willing to co-sign for since he didn't want to test drive anything if I didn't like it. He was working with Miguel who seemed very nice. I got out of work at 6 and Miguel asked us to be there at 6:30. We got there right at 6:30 and he told us to wait outside for him. We ended up sitting there for 45 minutes with him coming back every 10 minutes telling us to just wait a little longer, that he was almost done. I finally got fed up since I was sitting there for 45 minutes while I WATCHED him help other people that came after us. Finally, I stood up and told him if he didn't get a fire under his behind (other words were used) I was walking and not coming back. He stopped what he was doing and had us come inside to fill out paperwork. He basically through it at us and told us he would be right back and didn't come back for another 20 minutes. We handed him the filled out paperwork and he told us "ok I'll call you later" and that was that. Didn't say thank you, want to test drive it? Nothing. Basically through us out with the door slamming behind us. He didn't call for 2 days, and my fiance kept calling them. DO NOT PLAN TO CALL AND GET SOMEBODY RIGHT AWAY. Every single time my fiance called he would be on hold for 20+ minutes. He finally called back and told them we didn't want to deal with Miguel anymore because he told us we could only get approved for a certain amount of money, but then proceeded to say I could get a loan for $30K if I wanted to. So which is it? We then got taken by Rebecca who said she would do whatever we needed and be very helpful and this and that. So the Audi sold (big surprise) and we were then looking at a BMW M3 that Rebecca said "would be no problem". My fiance decided to go put down $600 as a deposit CASH to hold the car for us while they went through all the paperwork. Another 4 days went by and they called and said "We can't get you the BMW sorry". We went down to get our deposit back and they told us we would have to come back in 2 days because they had to write us a check. We told them NO we gave you cash and that's what we expect back and they told us it was already deposited into the bank and we would have to wait, even though we had a receipt showing we paid cash. Just for good measure, we had one of our friends go down there 2 hours later and ask about the BMW and sure enough Rebecca told them it was sold. They never tried working ANYTHING out to get us into that car, they had somebody come in that was a no hassle and sold it from under our feet even though we had a deposit on it and were just waiting back from the banks. To make matters worse, we then decided to give them ONE last chance and look at a really nice Jetta they had. Online it looked great, higher miles again, but cosmetically looked amazing. He went down there to look at it and the quarter panel was all messed up, and it looked like somebody had recently backed into it and ruined a good portion of the body. My fiance clearly told them I AM NOT paying for damage that I did not do, so you can either take money off of the car or fix it. And Rebecca proceeded to say that she can work the fixings into our loan and just finance it. We told her, why should we have to pay for something we did not do when clearly one of workers did it or somebody else. When I finally told my fiance that we are going somewhere else and I'll wait months until we find another car for us before dealing with them again, he said fine. He told Rebecca we were going somewhere else and she proceeded to cop attitude with him and basically hang up in his face. Some other things to also watch out for: Like I said previously, do not call. You will be put on hold for 20+ minutes at a time. The last time my fiance was put on hold I called from my phone and told them that he was still on hold. The guy copped attitude with me and said "well you know, our salesmen get very busy" I told him not to give me that crapload of a story because I work in an office with a 15 line phone and none of my customers are put on hold for more than 2 minutes at a time. Don't expect to test drive a car right away. The lot where they hold all of their cars is about a mile down the road. You need to take a "shuttle car" to the lot and wait for them to locate it. Half the time they don't know where any of the cars are, who has them or where the keys are. What a TIME WASTER. The salesmen there are dumber than rocks. Nobody knows what anybody is doing, or who is helping who or what needs to be done. Half of them are just standing around talking to each other and not really knowing what is going on. If you aren't there to buy a $25K or more car, they really could care less about you. $$$$$$$ is all that is on their mind. You'd be better off buying a car from a 5 year old. You'd probably get nicer service and they would know what they are doing. Bottom line: A Better way is the WRONG way. DO NOT buy from these people or even attempt to go down there. You will be treated like garbage and like your service doesn't even matter. They belittle people and make them feel stupid and unless you buying a top notch car worth tens of thousands, they will try to put you into a car that will just break the next day to get their commission. And if you get lucky and actually PURCHASE a car from them, don't plan on them being ANY help afterwards because they got their money. Your dirt to them. More
Im really shocked that so many people have had a bad experiance with this company, my wife and my parents both bought cars from here and the sales person was sue. she was extreamly friendly and knew wha experiance with this company, my wife and my parents both bought cars from here and the sales person was sue. she was extreamly friendly and knew what she was talking about when it came to cars (i tested her) we went there with no particular car in mind so we spent a good part of the day there. after a couple hours of driving mostly SUV'S my wife settled on a saturn vue, only untill after a year of everyday driving and highway use did things start breaking mostly easy fixes i could do in the driveway, then only about a month ago my parents needed a new car for my mother. she was sure she wanted an SUV and again after a couple of hours she bought an 08 chevrolet trailblazer, there were some things that were addressed and they had fixed before delivery. if you pay attention to the other posts these people delt with Pat, we had a very good experiance with sue if you do go to this company ask for sue she is great. also remember BBB and other sites like that are to complain about something, you dont ever see a posting on when some one has had a good experiance thats why im wrighting this. Yes they do buy from auction but show me a used car place that does not get there inventory from an auction. not every company is perfect and they will have some issues. dont read into the negitivity so much that you wont try them out, make your own choice on where you want to go. again i have had no issues with this company and when im ready to get rid of my truck i will be going to a better way for my next car/truck. Saw a used Saab on their web site that looked in great condition for a great price. When I arrived they told me the car had not been "prepped". I told them I was coming from a great distance (1 hour) and condition for a great price. When I arrived they told me the car had not been "prepped". I told them I was coming from a great distance (1 hour) and I asked them about the car I was interested in, they said it was there and in great condition. Once we found the car (20 min just to find it), the car was a mess. Food crumbs all over the floor, pet hair covering the seats, the driver seat side panel fell off when I opened the door and the keys wouldn't even open the trunk where the dealer plate was supposed to go. I test drove it anyway. Terrible, the brakes were shot....I mean pedal to the floor shot and the salesman said "lets take it on the highway". I just admitted to him the brakes were shot, who would allow someone to get on the highway after that. I tested the e-brake and it was strong, so onto the highway we went. Blown shocks, bad ball joints and terrible alignment followed. Complete piece of garbage. The salesman told me "all of these Items would be repaired, first you have to put down a deposit" I said, no, first you have to fix that rolling coffin, then perhaps I will consider driving it again. Terrible business practice and a waste of my time. Steer very clear of this awful place, for me and for your sake. JL More
Very disappointed by the dishonesty at this place. I thought it was a reputable dealership until they took my credit card # and made charges and false promises but never followed up with the information thought it was a reputable dealership until they took my credit card # and made charges and false promises but never followed up with the information or corrections they said they would make. I called almost daily, faxed and emailed and got a lot of empty promises and no return phone calls. Finally had to file a complaint with the BBB and am still waiting for a resolution and a refund. My mistake for having being so trusting and believing so many lies told at this place. DO NOT TRUST THEM!! More
