Best Car buying experience of my life! I had a recent experience with Anthony Taylor when my daughter bought her new car. He was so informative and helped her so much. There is No Place Like Anderson Ford Of St. Joe I was looking for a nice used truck, my family stopped into Anderson Ford and Ben McGary helped us find a truck that interested us as a family. Well t I was looking for a nice used truck, my family stopped into Anderson Ford and Ben McGary helped us find a truck that interested us as a family. Well turns out that was a new 2013 Ford F-150. We told him that there was no way they could help us with the payments we had in mind. Ben smiled and told us to let him and Guy Johnson worry about that little detail. About an hour and half later Ben and Guy came out and told my family to pick out the color of the truck we would like to have. My daughter informed Ben that it had to be Blue or the deal was off. After 4 days Ben called and the 2013 Ford F-150 was ready to be picked up. My family drove down got greeted with a big smile from Ben and Guy. Ben said that a little bit of paper work needed done and the truck was ready. We sat down with Guy and paper work done and a payment that was right for us. Anthony moved the truck around for us and showed us all the features and how the equipment worked. After all of that we was ready to take our new truck home. As we was ready to leave there was Ben McGary, Guy Johnson, and Anthony Taylor all standing there making sure we was happy. I went to Anderson Ford to look at a 2003 F150 listed on Auto Trader and Anderson's web site for just under $7800. When I got there, I was greeted by a manager and told that he thought the general manager h Auto Trader and Anderson's web site for just under $7800. When I got there, I was greeted by a manager and told that he thought the general manager had bought the truck I was interested in for his son. That sounded plausible, and I agreed to look at other trucks so I was handed off to a sales person. When I told the sales person which truck I had come to see, he had a different story. I was told the truck hadn't been maintained properly so they sent it to auction. I said if that were case why was it ever listed for sale on Anderson's web page and other sites? The response was something to the effect of "our photographer puts those up on the web site before we look at the vehicle. After we saw the vehicle we determined it wasn't up to our standards and sent it to auction." I find it very difficult to believe a photographer also writes the detailed vehicle description, sets the list price, and advertises the product all on his own. I was eventually seen by the sales manager who told yet another story of, "oh, we already sold that truck". The sales person said "I thought it went to auction because of its condition" or words to that effect. The sales manager stammered and said, "it did, and it sold at auction" or words to that effect. I left very disappointed in the behavior of this dealership. As of this writing, the same truck is still listed for sale at Anderson. VIN is 1FTRX18L03NB68543. You judge for yourself, but I believe this dealership used a low priced truck as an advertising leader to get people into the dealership and then attempt to up-sell the customer to newer, more expensive vehicles. It backfired with me and I will never buy a car from Anderson, ever. I went to a competitor located a few blocks south-southeast of Anderson on Frederick St. and had a fantastic experience, the opposite of how I was treated at Anderson. I bought a truck there and was very pleased with the buying experience. Even though I was shopping for an inexpensive truck this time around (not my daily driver), I'll be looking for a new car in 2 years. Anderson missed an opportunity to earn my business on that or any other future purchases. More
