As with most average people the potential of purchasing an Aston or Ferrari is slim to none. So I was feeling out of place even being in the showroom. Hank was aware of this yet still spent time to walk me around the "Automotive Paradise" and explain how and what Foriegn Cars Italia do to support the brand, customers and the local community. It was refreshing to see someone with a passion for what they do and what they sell. Should my financial fortunes ever change to where I am blessed to be able to purchase such a work of automove art, my first call would be Hank and Foriegn Car Italia. After many casual visits to the dealership this one was unique because i actually purchased a great vehicle. Mark was quite the generous salesman, not pushy, which i like. When I used to work for my Grandfather's construction company back in my 20's, he frequently reminded me of the following: "You can't make a living from building one house." That statement has resonated with me through the years and I remember it often in my business dealings. The problem with many exotic car salesmen is that they try to make a living from your one car, meaning that they insult you with a ridiculous lowball offer for your trade-in while at the same time trying to rip you off on an over-inflated price of their car, all while telling you with a smirk that "It's the best we can do". I never got that feeling with Hank. In fact, I didn't even feel the need to negotiate the terms of the deal once they were presented to me. What he presented seemed reasonable and fair, and that's all this customer was looking for to begin with. In a nutshell, I found Hank to be personable and straightforward, and I would not hesitate to do another deal with him in the future. More
I was on a mission to buy a 458 Italia (or, maybe, another Ferrari, but less likely). FCI's web site was very helpful in selecting some candidates, because it's detailed, fast and easy to navigate. My initial call with Hank was exactly as I'd like it to be: helpful, friendly, informative and professional. It made me want to drive the 90 minutes to FCI. At FCI, Hank was engaged, attentive and helpful, and it was fun picking the final candidate. The test drive was good. I've been on Ferrari test drives where the salesman thrashes the living daylights out of a (not warmed up) car. Hank didn't, and let me drive within a couple of minutes. I was blown away. He then let me take a drive without him, which is ALWAYS appreciated, because it lets me focus on the things I care about in a (very slightly) used car. The "negotiation" took 2 minutes; that's how it's supposed to be. Hank knew the market price for the car, and so did I. FCI pricing is in line with the rest of the US, and the price was fair, towards the bottom end of what's currently the norm. No problems. They delivered the car to my home in an enclosed trailer, on time, with an obviously careful driver. It's hard to see how this could have gone better, unless FCI had decided to give me the car for free because I'm a nice guy :-). More
This was my first visit with the intention of perhaps going home with a Ferrari. Hank, and the dealership, were extremely helpful, and as a result, I felt quite confident it going ahead and making a purc going home with a Ferrari. I had no intention of buying a new car from FCI but when I told him I was thinking about a sideways move into a Porsche, he made it easy to make that m had no intention of buying a new car from FCI but when I told him I was thinking about a sideways move into a Porsche, he made it easy to make that move with a great car that they had just gotten in stock.
