Motorhomes Specialists have the WORST warranty service department I have ever encountered. Our motorhome went back several times with the same issues unresolved. The first time, we went to fetch the motor department I have ever encountered. Our motorhome went back several times with the same issues unresolved. The first time, we went to fetch the motorhome after 2 months for a preplanned trip. Nothing had been done but they promised us that driving it with unfixed warranty issues would not void the warranty. The next time we had the same issue. They had the grace to be embarrassed by having done nothing again when we went to fetch it and serviced the generator (not under warranty) for free as though this was good customer service. After the next trip, our water heater (one of the early warranty issues) had damaged the side of the motorhome and was at risk of falling out of the RV. The stink from the vent stack was also still an issue from the first time we returned it and it had not been fixed. The service manager Justin Pongratz never returns calls and does not check email. He communicates the minimum to his serve technicians who tell us they are not allowed to fix anything more than exactly what he says. I suspect his communication with the manufacturer is equally poor - the reason why warranty work requests were denied. We arrived a third time to pick up the motorhome to find the water heater would still further damage the side of the motorhome and was a fire hazard, even though they claimed to have worked on it. Plus, the stink had not been fixed but now we were told that we had voided the warranty on the stink by overfilling the black tank - even though the stink was a problem with the vent stack, not the black tank. And that was after we were told to drive the RV without the warranty repairs because they had not bothered to do anything while they had the RV on site. Stephen Evans is apparently the big service boss. He told us Justin is his best manager and begged us to give Justin another chance to make things right. If this is his best technician, I'd hate to see the worst. When we went to fetch the motorhome this time with nothing done on these 2 issues again, I had to demand that Mr. Evans come and look at the RV for himself and tell me things were OK. He did not do so, but based on my description of the water heater, he did make Mr. Pongratz replace the water heater and the door to the water heater, which was done. However, I am now going to have to do battle regarding the pervading stink from the vent stack - of a $250,000 RV!! My advice is DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH MOTORHOME SPECIALISTS. They will screw you over every step of the way. Especially do not trust the word of either Mr. Justin Pongratz or Mr. Stephen Evans. They give you the good-old-boy charm, but their word is meaningless. More
Just picked up my new Dynamax Europa from MHS. Fantastic experience with Cowboy. Man that guy goes above and beyond. The technician that did our demo took over 2 hours and didn't seem to rush us. If you buy from them you better hope the unit you purchase has no issues and if it does when you go to pick it up - DONT TAKE IT! They want to sell to you but afterword good luck getting any service purchase has no issues and if it does when you go to pick it up - DONT TAKE IT! They want to sell to you but afterword good luck getting any service support! We purchased a brand new COACH which had a cracked cabinet door when we went to pick it up. They told us they would order a new one and have it shipped to us since we live about 700 miles away. I agreed that I could install the new door myself. Its been over 7 months and no door. I have called over a dozen times with no response and no returned calls. This should have been a very simple thing for them to take care of but basically once you leave they don't give a %$$#! More
Review: I am extremely disappointed with the service at Motor Specialist. I drove 300 miles, spending several hours on the road, to purchase a TX3 Dynamax, only to wait even longer at the dealership. Ho at Motor Specialist. I drove 300 miles, spending several hours on the road, to purchase a TX3 Dynamax, only to wait even longer at the dealership. However, the staff showed no interest in making the sale. To make matters worse, they sold the motorhome right as I arrived, without even consulting or contacting me beforehand. As a result, I wasted my time, money, and, most importantly, my passion for buying a motorhome. This lack of respect for a customer left a very bad impression. I cannot recommend this company for purchasing a motorhome. More
Timothy Day has provided exceptional service to us on 3 motorhomes. We just purchased another motorhome from MHSRV in August because of his service and that of his staff. Timothy and his staff does an exc motorhomes. We just purchased another motorhome from MHSRV in August because of his service and that of his staff. Timothy and his staff does an excellent job of trouble shooting and also has helped us to make our motorhomes more adapted to our mobility needs. My husband is an 87 year disabled veteran and I am 79 and mobility impaired. We love the service department in Alvarado! Stewart Braswell was very helpful with educating us on our new motorhome. Motorhomes have some great new features but they are complex enough for the buyer to need some guidance and education. It is very difficult to find good reliable RV service and even more difficult to find the knowledge and quality of service that Timothy Day and his department provides when strange issues require expert trouble shooting. Took to independent repair shop-they repaired it in 20 minutes-defective auto reset fuse- $7.00 part. I would like to recommend them but the service department lacking and sales person basically washed his hands as soon as a drove it off the lot. We are now looking to upgrade to Diesel Pusher and I don't think I will do business with them again. We also were sold a unit with open recalls on it from Ford. More
Was promised a replacement glass cook top for my purchased van in February. Chris Purcell promised this and has not delivered nor returned my numerous phone calls. Certainly very short sighted of this dealer as I will never do business with these guys again. A More
MHSRV of Alvarado Texas knowingly sold and allowed an unsafe vehicle to leave their lot. Based on their own declaration to me when asked you if MSHRV performed a full check of all RVs, including the Tho unsafe vehicle to leave their lot. Based on their own declaration to me when asked you if MSHRV performed a full check of all RVs, including the Thor Outlaw motor home we purchased at the point of receipt from the manufacturer, and prior to sell and release of all RVs, including the Thor Outlaw we purchased, their definitive stated Yes, those are definitely performed. The Thor Outlaw motor home sold to us and allowed to leave your facility dint have a working left tail, brake, and turn signal and functional and safe gas lines and values, If their records show any indication of a passing result then those records have been falsified since the defects identified were present prior to turning the RV over to us. When we did finally get a response frowm a lower level service rep, he stated that we will need to directly address this problem with the manufacturer? MHSRV completely washed their hands of any accountability or responsibility for the unsafe RV they sold. The walk through of the RV performed with a Sales Representative prior to taking possession of the RV was very minimal, somewhat uninformative, and did not include any elements of any equipment safety validation. These couple issues were just the start of a long list of defects we found upon taking possession of the RV. There was a list of 10+ defects, including a “Check Engine” warning light that was identified shortly after departing MHSRV and presumably already prior to leaving MHSRV location for which they told us to just take to a For dealer after get to OKC. We were so comfortable with the safety of the RV we had Bob Hurley RV in Oklahoma City perform a full all points (SWAG) inspection of the RV. The inspection identified a leaking Propane value and pinched gas line at the cooktop, which rendered the cooktop inoperable. Two significant safety defects that should have been identified by MHSRV prior to sale and unquestionably present prior to the sale of this RV to us. We were without our RV for almost 2 months while all the defect items were being fixed. We have yet to hear a word from the MHSRV General Manager/Sales Director or the Service Director on this issues, Nor from Blue Compass RV, their Parent company. Would never purchase again from MHSRV, or any Blue Compass RV dealership and strongly recommend against anyone else buying from them. More
Zero stars. We paid cash for a 200K Thor Toy Hauler RV and drove off the lot with a broken tail light, trim following off at driver's seat, check engine light, We paid cash for a 200K Thor Toy Hauler RV and drove off the lot with a broken tail light, trim following off at driver's seat, check engine light, refrigerator trim falling off, inline water heater control glued on, propane line pinched; completely unsafe vehicle. Multiple calls and emails unanswered. If you want a vehicle that is unsafe this is the dealership for you. The saddest part is that the dealership didn't even have the decency to respond and neither did the corporate contacts. Steer clear from this fraud of a dealership. I'm fairly confident that any positive reviews are written by the dealership. More
