I've purchased two trucks from Perkins and usually take my vehicle to them for service. I scheduled an oil change, fuel filter change, A/C check, and repair of two recalls for my 2022 Ram 2500. They chec my vehicle to them for service. I scheduled an oil change, fuel filter change, A/C check, and repair of two recalls for my 2022 Ram 2500. They checked the A/C and said it was fine, but the cabin air filter was very dirty and preventing proper air flow. They offered to replace it for $70. I declined and purchased a cabin air filter for less than $20 and replaced it myself the next day. When I removed the old one, I found that it was still clean. It was definitely not preventing proper air flow. Also, when I arrived for my appointment, I presented several coupons and also stated I was military (they offered a discount for military). When my truck was complete, they said the bill was $640 (including the military discount.) I asked if the coupon would reduce the cost. The service advisor said oh yeah, I forgot about that. So, once the coupon was used (in place of the military discount), it reduced my bill to $585. Additionally, after I left the dealership, I found they had not reset the computer for my oil filter life or fuel filter life. So, I reset them myself and called my service advisor to let him know that I reset it myself. You definitely need to keep an eye on what they try to sell you and what they try to bill you. More
