This is the worst of the worst place's to buy a car , I went there bought a car and did all the paperwor and insurance, and 15 days later they said the bank sent back the contract and need the car back.... went there bought a car and did all the paperwor and insurance, and 15 days later they said the bank sent back the contract and need the car back.... well in the state of michigan once you sign, the contract its a deal and if the bank says no later then the dealer has to place a lein and let you make payments to them... so beware of these people and get a copy of paperwork, and ask for a copy of Rd108 which is a state form... and yeah a carfax they buy wrecked cars,,,,, More
We looked at a 2003 dodge caravan and we payed them 4500 cash for it, the check engine light was on, but was just showing a code for spark plugs. 2 days after buying it, the serpintine belt shredded apart, cash for it, the check engine light was on, but was just showing a code for spark plugs. 2 days after buying it, the serpintine belt shredded apart, the front bearings were bad, a hole was found in the radiator line and it was an old hole, so they must have added fuels to this vehicle right before we test drove it so it would heat up since it was February. Those alone have cost us almost another 1000 on top of what we payed, plus another 1000 coming up to fix a steering issue. On top of the mechanical issues, they took almost 3 months to get our license plate to us even though I called both the Kalamazoo location where we baught the vehicle and the Jackson location (all paperwork handled in Jackson per Kalamazoo manager)We ended up calling the secretary of state who investigated and fined Rose city motors for not having the registration and not following the laws regarding tempory plates, not to mentionb since they had to wait for the paperwork to get out of Indiana the vehicle should not of even been sold, so they violated Michigan seller laws as well and I believe that they were fined for that as well. I would tell everyone thinking of going to these fools to beware as they are scam artists and want nothing more than your money for a vehicle that should be on the way to a scrap yard. More
Had multiple "miscommunications" with Rose City. I had to resend several copies of the same documents because they were constantly getting misplaced. I had to call my finance company because City. I had to resend several copies of the same documents because they were constantly getting misplaced. I had to call my finance company because I hadn't received any paperwork from them and they told me they didn't even have my account set up. I called Rose City and they said it was because, suprise, I was missing paper work. I ended up making a payment to Rose City over the phone (as asked to do by the finance company) only to get a call from the finance company that Rose City never forwarded the payment and I was now past due. I spoke to Greg Cook who was EXTREMELY rude and condescending. I would NEVER recommend this dealership. More
Went in to rose city and got "approved". they let me "borrow" the car over the weekend. called monday and said i had to get insurance. i am not getting insurance on a car that i dont own. they called ag "borrow" the car over the weekend. called monday and said i had to get insurance. i am not getting insurance on a car that i dont own. they called again and needed more information that i could not have possibly been "approved" without. they also told me i could NOT ever get an suv from there and for sure nowhere else and could only finance 14000. was driving their car for 5 days and still not done with the papers and there were things wrong with the car. so i went to kelley automotive and they approved me for 20000 in one day and the next day i bought my suv. the funny thing is i got approved at both places through the same financial company. needless to say, rose city has their car back and i now have a QUALITY car from a QUALITY company. do your research before you buy from these xxxxx. BEWARE OF ROSE CITY MOTORS!!! Have seen quite a few reviews with the same issue. Dont pay for something you dont own as well..."borrowing" is their problem and they are responsible for the vehicle until you sign on the line. More
I purchased a 2005 Jeep Cherokee from the Kalamazoo store and somehow they must have messed with the Carfax because it showed it was clear. They also talked me into an extended warranty that I later found o and somehow they must have messed with the Carfax because it showed it was clear. They also talked me into an extended warranty that I later found out was was worthless and non-refundable. Two weeks after I bought the Jeep it need $1500 in repairs and none of it was "covered" under my $1250 warranty. I have been nickled and dimed to death with this vehicle so I decided to cut my losses and trade it in on something else. The new dealer pulled an "Autocheck" report on the Jeep and it showed the Jeep was in two major head on collisons! They are smoooooth talkers for sure and I fell for it! Moral of the story is BUYER BEWARE, do your homework, listen to reviews, Autocheck not carfax, and stay the heck away form Rose City Motors!!! More
We bought a vehicle from the Kalamazoo office. We were told that we were all set to purchase our vehicle we just needed to come and sign for it and we could take it home. We drove three hours and we got t told that we were all set to purchase our vehicle we just needed to come and sign for it and we could take it home. We drove three hours and we got there and they didn't even have an approval yet. So they let us "borrow" the vehicle. They finally figured out an approval but of course we had to shell out more money plus the vehicle price magically went up by nearly $600.00. So we get the vehicle home and three service engine lights went on before we even made it home. We had it checked out by a mechanic which we had to pay for.So that was a few months ago and here we are with no air conditioning in an $18,000.00 vehicle in the middle of August.I took it to a mechanic and it needs $720.00 worth of work to fix a hole in the condenser that has been there for a long time come to find out. So I called Rose City Motors and talked to the manager. He was very short with me and had me call the service dept. They were very friendly but the service dept did not have the authority to work with me. So needless to say this vehicle has been nothing but a huge expensive headache. I want to give it back so bad. I look and this car everyday and think about what a huge mistake I made. This is a warning to all of those out there not to ever ever ever go here. They are scammers that are only looking to sell junker cars for ridiculous amounts. More
I bought an 08 Ford Escape from the Fort Wayne, Indiana location. Was shown and test drove a vehicle that they had on the lot and was told that I was getting the exact same vehicle only front wheel drive i location. Was shown and test drove a vehicle that they had on the lot and was told that I was getting the exact same vehicle only front wheel drive instead of 4 wheel drive. All other equipment would be the same as would the color. They called the next day, said that my vehicle would be coming from their Jackson, Michigan location, would be all detailed and ready to go, and I could pick it up after work. I arrived, the vehicle wasn't there. When it arrived an hour later, it was the same color, it was front wheel drive but it was a 4 cylinder (not the 6 cylinder that I test drove), The vehicle that I test drove had 45,000 miles on it, the one I took delivery of had 71,300 miles. The vehicle had not been detailed and was filthy (to their credit, they did make arrangements with a local company to detail the vehicle at their expense), however, there are stains on the seats and carpet that couldn't be gotten out. When I questioned the fact that the Escape that I got had a 4 cylinder and 26,000 extra miles, John told me that he wasn't aware that it was that way since he hadn't seen it. I have dealt with a lot of dealers over the years and know that even if they get a vehicle from another one of their lots, they know exactly what equipment and condition (including miles) the vehicle has on it. They also only had one key for the vehicle and told me that they would get the second one from their Jackson location and that they should have it within a couple of weeks. Now four weeks later, they have told me that they don't have the second key but will provide one at a cost of $135. This dealership (while friendly) has been purposely deceptive from the minute that I walked into their location. I would recommend to anyone in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area looking for a car to "steer clear" of Rose City Motors. There are plently of reputable dealers available to work with. More
I was told to come to Rose City because they would get me "approved." 5 days later and I have yet to receive one call from the dealership. If I want any information I have to call them and then they are sti "approved." 5 days later and I have yet to receive one call from the dealership. If I want any information I have to call them and then they are still not helpful. I faxed in everything they asked me to do and are complying with them. I would think if they would want to make a sale that they would be on the ball with these sort of things. I was hoping to have a good experience with them because I have heard so many good things. Maybe it is just because I live out of town so I am not as important as the local customers. Either way I would not go into a situation with them hopeful about anything. If you have a good experience thats great because thats what I wanted to have. More
"At Rose City Motors your job is your credit, come check out our inventory & fill out a credit application to get pre-approved." They claimed they were going to be my heros and this was going to be our last out our inventory & fill out a credit application to get pre-approved." They claimed they were going to be my heros and this was going to be our last stop at a car lot........yeah right. We test drove 5 different vehicles....supposedly approved for the one we finally chose. Took the car home, got the full coverage insurance, ran back and forth from credit unions, finance companies, insurance company, and ROSE CITY MOTORS. They refused to show us the carfax, promised to fix everything wrong with the vehicle(never did,and we brought it in twice just for that reason),and made us get insurance. We had the car in our possesion for almost 2 weeks..... then we get the call, they couldnt get us the financing. But they could....charge us a fortune on top of what they originally told us to keep the car. Buyers beware of ROSE CITY MOTORS and the silver 2003 Kia Sorento with the electrical problems. Shame on you ROSE CITY MOTORS!!!!!!! More
