David, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience with us. We apologize that we were unable to earn your business, but want to clarify a few items mentioned in your review. As you shop other dealerships right now, you will find most, if not every dealership, has a market adjustment on the majority of their inventory due to inventory shortages. There is a global logistic delay affecting the transportation of cars internationally and nationally, as well as a shortage of semi-conductor chips required in the manufacturing of vehicles that unfortunately is creating an overall inventory shortage. This shortage has created an increase in vehicle prices for all new and pre-owned vehicles due to increasing demand and lack of product. Conversely, this environment has generated an increased value for your existing vehicle – which you received a quote on when you did an online trade evaluation. Certain vehicles and trim-lines are harder to come by than others, and unfortunately a Turbo Carbon edition is a very rare vehicle in this market. Vehicle prices are quite literally fluctuating on a daily basis, and are determined by the market in that moment of the formal deal being made – very similar to the real estate market currently. As far as quoting a price, our representative provided you with the sticker price of the vehicle based on the options the vehicle had and any potential rebates you might qualify for. You did not request a total price, you had texted us asking an interior color and just the word “price” in your text message. We would have been happy to work through all of the numbers with you prior to you coming in, but only do so when we understand that to be exactly what is being requested. To do so, there would be far more qualifying questions and a larger overall conversation to ensure we were providing you with the most accurate information. There were no terms discussed, no understanding of how you were going to purchase the vehicle (lease/cash/finance), any trade-in determination, any knowledge of potential rebates you would qualify for, or any other factors that impact the formal sale of the vehicle. The price quoted would not have included any taxes or fees either, as it was not clear that that was what you were looking for. We apologize if we did not provide what you were expecting, but appears there was a misunderstanding in what was requested as that was not stated in your request. We understand that you met with Dave and stated you did not want to pay over sticker for the vehicle. Dave offered to have a manager speak to you after learning of this. A manager did go out to speak to you while you were on the phone and informed Dave to let him know when you were off the phone so he could come back out, but asked him to request how you were looking to pay for the vehicle while waiting for you to finish your phone call so we could have a more efficient conversation. We understand that when Dave asked you that question you left immediately after and did not discuss anything further or speak with our management team at that point. It appears there were some misunderstandings that unfortunately we were unable to clarify before you left. Again, we are sorry that we were unable to earn your business during your visit and wish you luck with your vehicle search.

Thank you for responding to my review and admitting that Lester Glen Mazda participates in misleading/dishonest practices. Your choice to turn the tables and try to place the blame on me is exactly what was expected. It is the common road taken when someone is caught doing something wrong. The motive for my review was to make consumers aware that they can expect to pay $5,000 over any quoted price at Lester Glen Mazda. Your response helped my position greatly. Thank you again.
