My brother bought from them and of course I reached out because his experience was excellent. Being in Long Island, NY there are not many dealers around so I knew I had to travel to look at all my options. From the get go I explained all that to Marty and he helped my find the vehicles closer to me so I could test drive and decide what fit our family needs. He assured me that he would help even if I didn’t buy from him. I reached out to him numerous times day and night with questions and he ALWAYS called me back right away. I desperately wanted to buy from him, but when I found my deal closer to home, he assured me that I was making the right decision. This proves that he puts his customer’s (or potential in my case) best interests before pushing the sale. At one point I said “ Marty I am not doing anything without your say so” he said “Thank you, but I would go for it if I were you”. I have never had a better experience with someone in sales. His help was immeasurable and to be honest, having him behind me gave me the confidence to negotiate the best deal knowing in the end Marty was there all the way. When I get to Texas I am buying that man a drink for sure. More
World Class Service - Marty Hunt My wife and I just purchased a Thor Four Winds 28z from Marty Hunt at MHSRV in Alverdao. I found Marty and MHSRV by reading the various reviews on Goo My wife and I just purchased a Thor Four Winds 28z from Marty Hunt at MHSRV in Alverdao. I found Marty and MHSRV by reading the various reviews on Google. I can attest Marty is the simply the best.....highest integrity, personable, and non pressure!! I first texted Marty after reading all of the positive reviews on him and informed him of what kind of RV we were interested in. He immediately texted me back and then called me. Marty was extremely patient and a great listener. He took the time to understand our needs and then made recommendations on which RVs to look at online and then scheduled an appointment to meet with him the next day. When me and my wife met Marty the next day it was like we had known him all of our life. He was so personable, caring and the ultimate professional. I can’t thank Marty enough for ensuring we had a world class buying experience. The entire experience was the best buying experience we have ever had. I would be remiss if I also didn’t recognize Mark Henry who was our finance manager who also provided outstanding support and service. Another person I would like to thank was Roy who spent a great deal of time doing the walk through of our RV and making sure all of our questions were answered. MHSRV is extremely lucky have have three outstanding individuals in Marty, Mark and Roy working for them as they are huge assets! Thank you gentlemen for an experience we will never forget. we highly recommend MHSRV because of Marty, Mark and Roy! Thank you guys!!!! More
$250,000 brand new class a cannot get service for 6 to 8 wks Title says it all, I have had several issues with my new class a purchased from MHSRV. Each time I tried to get it serviced, there was a 6 to 8 week waiting time before they could even look at it. The company is,focused on new sales, after that.....good luck. Suggest you find a good service center and have them make a warranty deal with the rv manufacturer. More
Outstanding Purchase! Marty Hunt, a salesman you can trust! I was purchasing my first RV for retirement traveling, and found a great deal at Motor Home Specialist. I was lu Marty Hunt, a salesman you can trust! I was purchasing my first RV for retirement traveling, and found a great deal at Motor Home Specialist. I was lucky enough to contact Marty. He immediately sent me detailed images of the RV, and assured me that it was in wonderful condition. As with all used RVs, there were issues that needed to be corrected, and Marty worked closely with the service department to see they were all handled. He went beyond my expectations to deliver me a fantastic deal on a used RV, with every detail taken care of, including new tires, for the asking price. I could not have been more pleased! More

The MHS staff were full of service and flexibility right up until the time we completed the deal that is; then things changed dramatically. It took 4 days to complete repairs which were discovered both before and during our final walk thru. Frankly, had it not been for the commitment and follow up by our sales person (Marty Hunt) I'm not sure our issues would have ever been resolved. If we ever consider buying another RV from MHS it would only be because of Marty! He is the main reason we rated our experience 4 stars. Our buying experience seems to have closely followed that of Mr. John R's (written on 9-March-2019), well articulated Mr John - we agree nearly verbatim! More

Our story: On January 14, 2019 we purchased a 2019 Holiday Rambler Navigator from Motor Home Specialist. Our sales person was Marty Hunt. Marty is one of the greatest salesmen I have dealt with. He didn’t treat us like a customer, he treated us like out of town loved relatives. He went above and beyond what a salesman would do. If your going to purchase a motorhome and are considering to make that purchase at Motor Home Specialist in Alvarado Texas, make sure you get Marty Hunt as your salesman. Marty will take real good care of you. You will be pleasantly surprised and very happy you chose Marty. On a scale of zero to ten, we would rate Marty 9.8. Hey, nobody is perfect. Okay, now here are the notations as per the title of this review. Below are some of the very good qualities of Motor Home Specialist we encountered. Motor Home Specialist had an excellent selection of motorhomes. Motor Home Specialist had excellent prices. Motor Home Specialist had a fabulous, fantastic salesman, Marty Hunt. Motor Home Specialist had the nicest and most accommodating receptionist we have ever encountered, Martha Jones. Motor Home Specialist had a customer overnight campground with full hookups and WiFi. Motor Home Specialist provided free lunch 3 days a week for its customers at their cafe. Motor Home Specialist provided a golf cart to its customers to drive around the large lot to view the plethora of motorhomes. Motor Home Specialist had a no pressure environment. Now, here are the deficiencies we encountered at Motor Home Specialist. Disclaimer: These deficiencies were not encountered via the sales department or the salesman we had, Marty Hunt. Motor Home Specialist had no transparency with its customers. Motor Home Specialist appeared to us to have no scheduling system for delivery issues or repairs. Motor Home Specialists’ Service writers and managers gave contradictory answers to questions asked we believe on purpose to mask the problems they were experiencing. Motor Home Specialists’ warranty department seemed to be excruciatingly slow and extremely disorganized. It was told to us by several techs that if a person was out of work for a day or two in that department, no one picked up their work to make a continuous smooth warranty process to and from the manufacturer. Motor Home Specialist does not have enough certified RV repair technicians as is the whole industry is experiencing this. Motor Home Specialist is seriously lacking in delivery and repair customer service. Motor Home Specialist is seriously lacking with delivery issue and/or repair issue communications with the customer. Motor Home Specialist appears to has some disgruntled employees due to the sale of the company and its cut back of employee perks contributing to their deficiencies. Motor Home Specialist has cut back on some customer benefits such as a full tank of propane and fuel upon purchase of a motorhome. Motor Home Specialist appeared to us to have a very inefficient use of their delivery and repair facility. Motor Home Specialist does not have a parts and accessories store for their customers. Note: This company is experiencing transition confusion and pain as any company would after a sale. In no way are we suggesting you should avoid Motor Home Specialist. We are suggesting you be aware of our experience and attempt to avoid the issues. As we mentioned in the very beginning of this review, we purchased our new motorhome January 14, 2019 and were in the delivery process living on-site for 46 days due to some of the issues we found during the walk thru. We had to live in our new coach as we traded our old one in and it was our home. We lived in the cold weather and almost ran out of the propane we had and could not get more. We worked closely with our salesman Marty and the customer concierge Matt and they tried to get things moving along but we guess their requests and pleas fell upon deaf ears. Luckily we had some electric heaters. We wrote emails to the general manager and even to one of the new owners as well as Don O’Banion as he was kept on as CEO. The general manager did get back to us and got the ball rolling but only when we were at about day 39 or 40. Don O’Banion never replied. One of the new owners did reply as a follow up but only after we left and were traveling. We could get into more detail as we kept a daily journal but this review is already too long. If we were the new owners or even if we were the old owners we would be extremely embarrassed about this situation and would try to write the wrong. In summary: Our personal rating for Motor Home Specialist is: 5 stars = excellent 1 star = poor Selection: * * * * * Price: * * * * * Sales process: * * * * * Delivery process: * Warranty service: * Quality of repair work: * * * * Communication with customer: * Transparency: * Remember: A promise is nothing without substance backing it up. Outstanding Service! Thank you Andrew! My wife and I are from MN and have been searching for the perfect first RV. While searching online, we located one at MHSRV. It was a year and a hal My wife and I are from MN and have been searching for the perfect first RV. While searching online, we located one at MHSRV. It was a year and a half old and had under 5,000 miles. It was also priced far under anything else we compared it to. I decided to call and spoke to Andrew. He was a new salesman to MHSRV but had experience in sales from another dealership. We chatted and because it was late in the day, we agreed to a "walk around" via FaceTime the following morning. As agreed, Andrew contacted me and was able to show and answer every question we had. He assured me that this coach was "as new". We were a bit skeptical but decided to put the required $2000 down to hold it until we could see it in person. We arrived the following Saturday and met Andrew. He was very courteous and comforting as he knew this was a big purchase for us. We drove out to the RV and met Juan the technician who was prepping the RV. Both Andrew and Juan were very patient and explained everything in detail. We could tell that they knew their RV's and were not BS'ing their way through the instruction. Overall, I can't say enough of MHSRV, Andrew and Juan. They made a stressful situation for my wife and I as smooth as can be expected. I can't say enough about Andrew. He is a big asset to MHSRV! Thank you! More
Worst experience EVER!! Great shopping experience...terrible follow thru and horrific service from the service department! When we initially signed the paperwork on our BRAND Great shopping experience...terrible follow thru and horrific service from the service department! When we initially signed the paperwork on our BRAND NEW $87,000 coach, we identified several maintenance issues that we were assured would be fixed prior to pick up. On pick up day - NOTHING was fixed. We stayed the night at the lot, per their recommendation, so we could identify and deal with any other issues. We identified several other problems and spent our ENTIRE Saturday waiting around for them to fix everything only to drive off the lot and realize the coach had a severe shimmy. Called the dealership but because it was during the holidays there was nothing they could do. We had a trip planned already for Christmas so we bought a new tire hoping that would fix the shimmy and we took it out; we experienced several mechanical issues (dead batteries, stuck slide, water leaking in...the list goes on and on) on the trip which made our entire experience miserable. Returned the camper to the dealership within 11 days and was assured we would be put on a rush since we were within the 30 day window. We were patient for a month but when we called for a status update we were told that it was not ready and the only thing that was on a rush was the slide. We were also told that there was nothing wrong with the tires and there was no shimmy. We repeatedly asked the maintenance team to drive the rig so they could feel what we felt....after 6 weeks, someone finally drove it and low and behold...it had a shimmy! Was told on Friday that the rig would be delivered to the Mercedes dealership the following Monday - called to check on the status Tuesday and guess what - it was never taken to Mercedes. I have called upper management several times and left messages because of course they are NEVER available, and to date have not heard back from anyone. Our brand new camper has been in the shop for almost 2 months now with no end in sight. I have purchased 3 campers now and this has by far been the WORST experience EVER! I would give it NO stars if I could! More
